Low Down Underground
2000. USA. Directed by Elanna Nicole Allen. Quentin, a rambunctious nine-year-old, bursts into a New York subway car and almost runs into an elderly lady! Quentin also meets two other passengers, a blues musician and a punk, and the four become a sort of family on the subway. This unusual story of friendship is told in rap, featuring artists such as Treach (of Naughty by Nature) and Pepa (of Salt 'n' Pepa).
Macropolis
2012. Great Britain. Directed by Joel Simon. Discarded from a factory production line, a toy cat and dog are determined to rejoin their fellow toys on the store shelf, forcing them to work together as they make a hazardous journey through the big city.
Rabbit and Deer
2013. Hungary. Directed by Péter Vácz. Best friends Rabbit and Deer share everything, including a love of hot chocolate with marshmallows, but their friendship is challenged by the discovery of a third dimension.
This program is for individual families of up to two adults and up to three kids.
Admission is free. Tickets are distributed on the day of the program only, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets will be distributed at the reception desk in The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, at 4 West 54th Street (near Fifth Avenue), from 10:00–10:30 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Tickets are also distributed at the information desk in the Museum’s main lobby.
