November 2, 2014, 1:30 p.m. — Vistas: Visual Essays of Christopher Williams
No registration is required. Curator Roxana Marcoci calls Christopher Williams “a creator of visual essays.” These “essays” are photographs whose formal and conceptual rigor confronts broadly diverse histories. They present, in the words of the artist, “different choreographic possibilities” or “vistas” for viewing and perceiving the work. Groups meet in the galleries noted on the schedule. FM headsets for sound amplification are available for all talks. In this session, four of Williams’s “essays” will be read through multiple lenses, with the goal of mining the photographs for experiential and interpretive possibilities. Sign language–interpreted Gallery Sessions are held every fourth Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m.
