Traveling Light
1985. USA. Directed and Animated by Jane Aaron. Stop-motion animation of torn paper is used to create the illusion of light traveling through a house. 2 min.
Runaway Bathtub
2005. USA. Directed by Annie Poon.
The bathtub becomes an adventure when the tub overflows and two little girls are swept out to sea! They meet fishy friends and sharky foes and even have a rainwater tea party. 3 min.
White Out
2008. USA. Directed by Jeff Scher.
In this film, composed of approximately 2,250 watercolor paintings on paper, artist Jeff Scher creates a visual celebration of the magic of snow, with music by Shay Lynch. 3 min.
Papiroflexia
2007. USA. Directed by Joaquín Balwin. The tale of a skillful paper folder who could shape the world with his hands. 3 min.
Impasse
1978. USA. Directed by Caroline and Frank Mouris. Watch as complex designs are created out of thousands of Avery labels. 10 min.
Ludovic—A Crocodile in My Garden
2000. Canada. Directed by Co Hoedeman. This charming tale of a young teddy bear offers a glimpse into the magic of childhood. It is springtime, and Ludovic reigns over his menagerie of paper animals and their jungle home in the garden. 10 min.
This program is for individual families of up to two adults and up to three kids.
Admission is free. Tickets are distributed on the day of the program only, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets will be distributed at the reception desk in The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, at 4 West 54th Street (near Fifth Avenue), from 10:00–10:30 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Tickets are also distributed at the information desk in the Museum’s main lobby.
