ENGINE OIL & FILTER CHANGE
Remove the left engine guard (page 3-5). Start the engine and let it idle for 3 minutes. Stop the engine and wait 3 minutes. Support the motorcycle upright on a level surface. Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick. |
Place an oil pan under the engine to catch the oil. Remove the engine oil drain bolt and sealing washer. Drain the engine oil. • Operate the kickstarter pedal five times or more while pushing the engine stop switch, so the engine oil completely drains. |
Remove the bolts, oil filter cover and O-ring. |
OIL FILLER CAP/DIPSTICK |
Change the engine oil with the engine warm and the motorcycle on level ground to assure complete draining. |

Remove the oil filter and spring.
SPRING
Apply oil to the engine oil drain bolt threads and seating surface.

Install the engine oil drain bolt with a new sealing washer.
Tighten the engine oil drain bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 16 N m (1.6 kgf-m. 12 Ibf-ft)

Apply grease to the oil filter spring contact area. Install the spring into a new oil filter.

Install the oil filter with the "OUT SIDE" mark facing out.
Installing the oil filter reverse side will result in severe engine damage.
Apply engine oil to a new О-ring and install it to the oil filter cover.
Install the oil filter cover and tighten the bolts securely.

Fill the engine with the recommended oil.
OIL CAPACITY:
0. 67 liter (0.71 US qt, 0.59 Imp qt) at draining
0. 70 liter (0.74 US qt, 0.62 Imp qt) at oil filter change
Install the oil filler cap/dipstick.
Recheck the oil level (page 4-19).
Make sure there are no oil leaks.
Install the left engine guard (page 3-5).
