CAMSHAFT INSTALLATION (After ’07)

Apply molybdenum oil solution to the outer surface of each valve lifter.

CAMSHAFT HOLDER ASSEMBLY |
Apply molybdenum oil solution to the cam lobes.
Install the camshaft holder assembly with the intake cam lobes facing up.
Apply oil to the camshaft holder mounting bolt threads, and install them.
Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 14 Nm (1.4 kgf-m, 10 Ibf ft)

When installing the cam sprocket, face the decompressor pin to the front side. |

Install the cam chain onto the cam sprocket. When installing the cam sprocket, align the following: - Decompressor weight hole with the setting pin of the decompressor shaft - Bolt hole of the cam sprocket with the camshaft - Index line on the cam sprocket with the "A" mark of the camshaft holder |

Clean and apply locking agent to the cam sprocket bolt threads.
Temporarily install the one cam sprocket bolt.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise one turn, then install and tighten the other cam sprocket bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 20 N-m (2.0 kgf m, 15 Ibf ft)
Turn the crankshaft clockwise one turn again, and tighten the remaining cam sprocket bolt to the specified torque.

Install the cam chain tensioner lifter bolt with a new sealing washer. Tighten the cam chain tensioner lifter bolt securely. № |
Check the O-ring is in good condition, replace it if necessary.

Apply oil to the O-ring.
Apply grease to the crankshaft hole cap threads.
Install the crankshaft hole cap and tighten it to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 15 N m (1.5 kgf-m. 11 lbf-ft)
Install the cylinder head cover (page 9-42).
